I’m excited to present my new illustration portfolio! It premiered last week at Surtex NYC – a fabulous show, more on this later!- and now is available for all to see!! Many of my little paintings have been part of my instagram feed of daily postcards, some are brand new for the 2015 portfolio. I’ve fallen off the daily postcard wagon a bit, but I’ll be back on again before too long!! Hope you enjoy this collection of whimsy!!
I have sent off my booth fabric, my illustration portfolio and my lookbook for printing– all to bring to Surtex in May. Phew!! So today I celebrated and made a new pattern. I’ve been working on this one for a while, in my spare time, and I’m so happy with it I thought I would share a sneak peek! It’s very timely- April has been fully bringing the showers (including hail!) for the past few days. I have to remind myself of the May flowers at the other end of these dreary, cold, no-fun-for-biking days. Drawing this pattern also helped offset the grey outside. Plus there’s totally some green out there FINALLY, and my daffodils even bloomed so things are definitely looking up!!
Hello long lost blog! I had a lovely summer holiday and now I’m back in the studio with some fun news to share! It’s Film Festival season and one great movie which premiered at TIFF and was the gala at the AFF – and which I hope everyone gets a chance to see!- is Heartbeat by Andrea Dorfman– it’s seriously wonderful! And it features a pretty great dress made by Sarah Haydon Roy, the wardrobe designer, in fabric designed by me!!! The dress stars in a really key scene which I totally won’t give away except to say– it looks amazing and Tanya Davis, the star of the film, rocks in it!!! It was a lot of fun working on the pattern and with the amazingly talented Heartbeat team. Here’s the original pattern design in a couple of colorways…
